Cranberry Compote
This version of a cranberry sauce is used in our Nantucket Mule and Very Berry Merry ‘Tini, but it can go in all sorts of beverages and top all sorts of deserts and snacks. A store bought cranberry sauce can always be used, but this one is so easy to make and gets your home smelling festive, so it’s a win win to kick off the holiday season.
Ingredients:
12oz fresh cranberries (1 standard bag)
1 cup orange juice
zest of juice of 2 oranges,
zest of and juice of 1 lemon
½ cup sugar
½ cup honey
½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground clove
Directions:
Combine all ingredients to a saucepan over medium/low.
Bring to a simmer stirring constantly, until cranberries have popped and are consistency of thin cranberry sauce, about 10 minutes.
Remove from the heat, let cool, and chill in the fridge.
