Rum Swizzle
If you’ve ever been to Bermuda, you know the saying… “ Swizzle Inn, Swagger Out” made famous by the Swizzle Inn. This is their signature cocktail that accompanies their name. The Rum Swizzle is not only made at the Swizzle Inn. It is a staple around the island and everyone has their own recipe. Typically all will vary only slightly from the recipe below. The variations tend to only be in the sweeteners. Most will have dark rum, spiced rum, pineapple and orange juice.
Tips and Trixx:
This is a perfect cocktail to make for a crowd. Make a batch ahead and mix when you’re ready.
if you make ahead, leave out the ice and add it in and swizzle right before serving
To make a batch for 4-6 people
Ingredients:
4 oz Goslings Black Seal Rum
4 oz Goslings Gold Rum* (or black seal)
5 oz Pineapple Juice
5 oz Orange Juice
3 oz triple sec
juice of 2 lemons,
2 oz simple syrup
6 Dashes of Angostura Bitters
Directions:
Add all ingredients to a pitcher with ice.
Churn with a bar spoon or swizzle stick for 20 seconds.
Strain into a rocks glasses with fresh ice..
Garnish with fresh pineapple.
to make just one
Ingredients:
¾ oz black seal
¾ oz gold rum
½ oz triple sec
1 oz orange juice
1 oz pineapple juice
¼ oz lemon juice
¼ oz simple syrup or ½ tsp quick dissolve sugar
Directions:
Add all ingredients to highball glass with crushed ice.
Churn with a bar spoon or swizzle stick for 20 seconds.
Add more crushed ice to fill the glass.
Garnish with Dark cherry and sliced orange or pineapple.
