Lavender Series

Late Spring begins lavender season and nothing beach the bright sunshine of June than enjoying the outdoors with an aromatic refreshing beverage. You add lavender to pretty much anything, a little goes a long way. Start by making a lavender tea, turn it into a syrup if you prefer and add it to anything from your seltzer water to your morning cup of coffee.

For the cocktails below, we’ve left the lavender tea/water as just that and then added a sweetener separately. This way we can control how much lavender to sweet flavor we want, and also give the freedom to add different types of sweeteners (simple syrup, honey or agave are the most common).

Lavender Tea:

  • ½ oz by weight dried lavender petals (no stems)

  • ¼ oz by weight butterfly pea flower (optional for color),

  • 2 cups of water

  1. Bring water to a boil

  2. Add lavender and pea flowers to a bowl

  3. Pour boiling water over the lavender and pea flower, and steap 10 mins

  4. Strain mixture into a clean bowl or tupperware, and chill in the fridge before use.

✨ Lavender Manhattan 💜

Classic Cocktail meets floral forward. The perfect manhattan is a quintessential classic cocktail, and we’ve dressed this one up in style. This makes a Perfect Manhattan which combines sweet and dry vermouth. A typical (or not perfect) manhattan uses bourbon and sweet vermouth. We use Rye here to bring out those lighter flavors as opposed to a bourbon which can be sweeter. Featuring our Lavender water for lavender season, you won’t want to skip this one! Mixx it up and let us know how you like it!

Ingredients:

2 oz Rye Whiskey or your choice of Bourbon

½ sweet vermouth

½ dry vermouth

½ oz lavender water

Dashes of lavender bitters

Garnish with lavender sprig

Directions:

  1. Add all ingredients with ice to a cocktail shaker

  2. Shake 20-30 seconds

  3. Pour over ice in rocks glass

  4. Garnish with Lavender sprigs

  5. Sip & Enjoy!
