The Clausemopolitan

It’s hard to know exactly what Santa and Mrs. Claus drink up at the North Pole, but we’d like to think that they really love a good, simple martini.

The holidays get so busy so let’s make a super easy cocktail you can whip up in no time! If you’re like us you’ll have vodka and Cointreau on hand for making the typical Cosmo. Now just switch up the cranberry and add some fancy garnishes and your good to go, and let the festivities begin!

This cocktail uses almost the same ratios as our original Cosmo but we upped the white cranberry juice a bit to bring out more cranberry flavor. The garnish really make this cocktails sing! Fresh cranberries add that bright pop of red and the rosemary brings in the scents of the holidays.

Some tips and tricks:

  • As always get your glass chilling before you start shaking.

  • Always use fresh lime juice in cosmos. It’s makes a huge difference. But we won’t judge if you’re in a pinch and only have from concentrate. Better to have a cocktail than not.

  • This cocktail is a shaking cocktail. So shake to chill but also to aerate to bring out the brightness of the juices.

  • It is also optional to double strain to remove any bits of ice.

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz Vodka

  • 1 oz Cointreau

  • 1 1/2 oz White Cranberry Juice

  • 1/2 oz Lime Juice

  • Fresh cranberries and rosemary sprig for garnish

Directions:

  1. Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice. Chill martini glass.

  2. Shake for 20 seconds

  3. Strain into a chilled coupe or martini glass

  4. Garnish with fresh cranberries and a sprig of rosemary.

  5. Sip & Enjoy!
