Pretty in Pink Bees’ Knees

When something is ‘the bees’ knees it means it's something surpassingly excellent, wonderful, or cool. In other words, simply the best. Dating back to the prohibition era, The Bee’s Knees Cocktail meant “the best” and is a simple recipe of gin, honey and citrus. This recipe, like the original, is very simple, but we’ve put our chixx twist on it by using a delicious Cape Cod speciality distilled gin – South Harlow Spirits Dry Line Rosé Gin along with fresh honey and fresh lemon juice. Shown here in a beautiful quinn coupe glass by Caskata. Mixx it up and let us know how you like it! We think it’s, well, simply the bees’ knees!

Tips and Trixx:

  • Fresh squeezed lemon juice makes all the difference, and similarly so does the quality of honey. Using local raw honey from your region helps with seasonal allergies!

  • We suggest using honey syrup so the honey is more easily incorporated, or you can add honey straight and shake more vigorously to combine. To make honey syrup combine one part honey and one part water.

  • When you have honey in a glass jar wait till there is a little bit left and add equal parts boiling water to the jar, stir until honey is melted or cautiously shake. Allow to cool before using. You can also make the cocktail directly in the jar!

  • Double strain to get out any ice chips

Ingredients:

  • 2oz Rosé Gin

  • 1oz Lemon Juice

  • 1/2 oz honey or 1oz honey syrup

Directions:

  1. Add all ingredients and ice to a cocktail shaker

  2. Shake vigorously for 20-30 seconds

  3. Strain into a coupe or martini glass

  4. Top with a rose petal

  5. Sip & Enjoy!
